Project management without cloud — why it matters

Most project management tools (Asana, Monday, Jira, MS Project Online) store your data on remote servers. For many organizations, that's a problem. Here's why — and how MasterGantt addresses it.

The 4 risks of cloud for project management

1. Your project data is on a server you don't control

Project names, budgets, schedules, team member names — everything is stored with a third party. Even encrypted "at rest," the provider holds the keys. In case of a breach, your project data is exposed.

2. You depend on an internet connection

No network = no access to your schedules. On the road, in a dead zone, or on a classified network — SaaS tools are unreachable.

3. The provider can change the rules

Price increases, feature removal, terms of service changes, service shutdown. Your data is held hostage by a business decision that's not yours.

4. Regulatory compliance is your problem

GDPR, healthcare hosting, DORA, certified cloud requirements — proving compliance with a US-based SaaS is an administrative nightmare. Every audit starts from scratch.

The MasterGantt approach

End-to-end encrypted collaboration. If you need to work with others, synchronization uses AES-256-GCM — the relay server only sees opaque blobs. And that server can be deployed on your own infrastructure.

Encrypted export. The .mgp files are encrypted with your password (PBKDF2 + AES-256). Even if intercepted, they are unreadable.
